We are delighted to honor The Women and Children Crisis Centre (WCCC) of Tonga with our first GSCFFI Activist Award.  The WCCC was selected in partnership with The Global Fund for Women.

WCCC Mission:

The Women and Children Crisis Centre (WCCC) of Tonga provides advocacy, counseling and support for those who have experienced a range of violence and abuse.

Every member of Tongan society deserves to live free from fear. Help us create a culture where women and children are happy and safe.

WCCC provides a variety of services including:

• 24-hour counseling – call 22 240
• Temporary shelter - the “Mo’ui Ke Fiefia Safe House”
• Support (e.g.,through referrals to other services, provision of secondhand clothing)
• Male advocacy
• Community outreach and awareness
• Women and Young Girls empowerment
• Research and Information Communication

The WCC recently received the  RRRT / SPC Human Rights awards for its efforts to advance gender equality in Tonga.
